I loved Xian - the Terracotta Warriors are less of an attraction than the street food you can buy everywhere, but especially in the Muslim Quarter.
Big Goose Pagoda
Big Goose Pagoda is located behind a massive 100m-long musical fountain.
The rank-and-file finest of Chinese chivalry.
Quite an army
One guy with a hole in his hat.
The muslim district heaves with merrygoers.
This seems dangerous...
This food tasted amazing, and it cost me 8 Yuan. About $1. Ooh ooh, and those Ice Peak drinks are pretty tasty too.
Steam rises from a dozen cookpots, as it has for millennia.
I took a walk around the restored Xian city wall - 16km.
Global warming in beautiful progress...
The musical fountain again.
I can tell from the shape of the water - they're playing Wagner. (About half the songs were Wagner, so it's a safe guess)
